Frequently asked questions

Minimums, turnaround, documentation, and what to send us.

Can you create specifications and artwork for cartons we already buy?

Yes. Through our packaging specification program, we build a dieline, print-ready artwork, a Packaging Parts Specification, and an incoming-inspection overlay for each carton SKU from your production samples, and deliver them in a binder, on an external drive, and through an offsite server link.

How quickly will I receive a proof?

PDF proofs are delivered within 2 business days of receiving complete artwork.

Do you verify 2D codes and barcodes?

Yes. Codes are verified and graded on a Cognex DataMan 8072V verifier operated under a documented validation protocol, and the grade report ships with your Certificate of Conformance.

Can you supply printed samples for an FDA submission?

Yes. We provide printed carton and IFU samples for your FDA submissions at no charge.

Can you serialize short-run cartons?

Yes. We print unique serial numbers, GS1 DataMatrix and QR codes, and human-readable lot and expiry on every carton, in the same pass as the artwork, to support your DSCSA and UDI requirements.

What is the minimum order?

Cartons start at 50 units and IFUs at 1,000 units, scalable to full production quantities.

How fast can I get cartons?

Standard turnaround is 10 working days from approved artwork to shipped cartons. Rush options are available for time-critical programs.

What documentation comes with an order?

Every regulated order includes a Certificate of Conformance, a batch record with lot traceability, an inspection report, and an artwork revision log, without your having to ask. Orders with 2D codes or barcodes also include a code verification grade report.

Is your facility FDA-registered?

Yes. FDA Establishment Registration No. 3014553709. Registration of an establishment does not denote FDA approval, certification, or endorsement.

Can we audit your facility?

Yes. Supplier audits, quality agreements, and supplier questionnaires are welcome. Contact us to schedule.

Do I need a dieline before I ask for a quote?

No. Send the product dimensions or a sample carton and we can engineer the structure and dieline for you.

What artwork files should I send?

Print-ready PDF or Adobe Illustrator files with fonts outlined and 1/8 inch bleed. If your artwork isn't final, send what you have and we'll tell you what's needed.

Why is digital less expensive for short runs?

Digital printing needs no plates and little make-ready, and short runs are cut on a digital flatbed cutter, so there's no steel-rule die to buy.

Can you be a second source for cartons we buy from an offset printer?

Yes. Send a current production sample and your drawing or specification, and we'll match the structure, board, and artwork for qualification.

What if our volume grows past short-run quantities?

We'll tell you when a job would cost less on an offset press and quote it that way, so you keep one supplier as volume grows.

Where do you ship?

Anywhere in the United States. MBM Packaging also ships weekly to customers in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

Ready to spec your next run?

Cartons from 50 units, IFUs from 1,000. Quotes within one business day.
